Redwood Technologies Group Bringing its Expertise to Liverpool eHealth Cluster

June 18, 2019

Pioneer in omni-channel cloud communications solutions, Redwood Technologies Group, is sharing its expertise of integration and intelligent automation in healthcare as a new member of the Liverpool eHealth Cluster.

The eHealth Cluster brings together technology SMEs, the long-term care sector, local authorities, academic bodies and the NHS to accelerate the scale and pace of innovation of healthcare in Liverpool City Region. Established in 2013, the eHealth Cluster operates as a social enterprise to promote engagement, support health innovations and facilitate collaboration between the health sector and Cluster members such as Redwood Technologies Group.

As an organisation based outside Liverpool, Redwood Technologies Group provides other members with resources and knowledge of eHealth market trends and needs. The Group has a strong record of helping to deliver improvements for the NHS 111 Urgent Care service in London through its storm® cloud engagement solution. Before NHS 111 adopted storm, patients were facing lengthy waiting times in stressful situations because they were routed to any available Health Advisor, with no ability to track repeat callers or prioritise a patient with a developing illness or an existing care plan.

The storm team assisted NHS 111 in London to resolve patients’ frustration at being passed unnecessarily from one clinician to another. storm’s award-winning Patient Relationship Management (PRM) solution removes the need for patients to repeat their symptoms by routing repeat callers to the same clinician they had previously spoken to, and by providing specialist care for users with long-term or end-of-life conditions.

Following the adoption of storm, NHS 111 has seen up to a 50% reduction in the number of ambulances needing to be dispatched for complex patients with a care record. Independent evaluations have also found that 80% of care plan callers are satisfied with the improved service. Redwood Technologies Group is looking to impart this knowledge of success in healthcare to help deliver better patient outcomes in Liverpool.

Martin Taylor, Head of Healthcare at Redwood Technologies Group, said: “The eHealth Cluster has already demonstrated a record of success in Liverpool, and is a key player in the development of 5G in the Health and Social Care sectors. The Group is proud to become a member of the Cluster, and we are looking forward to sharing our experience and expertise for the benefit of the people of Liverpool.”
