Leader in cloud communications solutions, Content Guru, has been shortlisted for “Services Company of the Year” at the 2020 UK IT Industry Awards for its work to enable customers to handle large spikes in calls during the coronavirus crisis.
The awards recognize the contribution of individuals, organizations and technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT. Content Guru was shortlisted for its storm® contact center technology solution, which has enabled organizations across a range of sectors to cope seamlessly in the face of unprecedented disruption.
Herts Urgent Care (HUC) runs the NHS 111 telephone line and General Practitioner (GP) out-of-hours services for over 3.3 million people in the East of England, both of which are crucial components of the NHS’s urgent care response. To address HUC’s need to manage urgent cases without clinicians having to see patients in person, Content Guru quickly developed the storm LINK On Demand Video Consultation application, which can be launched by any clinician mid-consultation.
Alongside HUC, Content Guru’ storm solution has enabled NHS 111 London scale to handle an increase in call volumes of up to 500% due to the pandemic. Callers have the option to get a link via SMS to a Public Health England web page containing more detailed information about coronavirus. To help handle spikes in calls, Content Guru also set up unique numbers for NHS 111 providers so patients with symptoms of COVID-19 are routed to a dedicated group of healthcare advisers.
Martin Taylor, Deputy CEO and Co-Founder of Content Guru, commented: “Content Guru is pleased to reach the finals for these esteemed awards. Throughout the pandemic, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our customers are able to deliver a best-in-class service in spite of the hurdles they face. As the world adapts to its ever-evolving ‘new normal’, Content Guru is committed to providing innovative technology solutions to new challenges.”
