Berkshire Community Foundation

Berkshire Community Foundation

Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) is a charitable organisation that brings members of the county’s community into contact with the local initiatives and groups that they would like to support, making sure that their donations are as effective as possible in helping those most in need. BCF raises funds and makes grants to local charities and community groups across Berkshire, addressing issues such as child poverty, unemployment, social isolation and homelessness.

In June 2010, the Redwood Technologies Group set up a dedicated fund to support local charities and collaborated with the BCF to create the Redwood Technologies Grassroots Fund, which makes grants to support a wide range of local initiatives and community organisations. Through the Grassroots Grants scheme, the UK government matches donations made to the fund pound-for-pound.

The Redwood Technologies Grassroots Fund’s creation was marked by the presentation of a cheque for £10,000 to Richard Griffith-Jones, Chairman of the Berkshire Community Foundation, and Joanne Stokes, former Development Director at BCF, who currently works as a Project Manager at Content Guru.
