Bracknell, 10th February 2014: The continuing success of Content Guru’s group sister company, Redwood Technologies, sees the company featured on-screen in today’s editions of ‘BBC South Today’. As part of an article exploring how the Thames Valley is leading the economic recovery for the South of England, through rising pay and expanded employment opportunities, Redwood was selected as an innovative rapid-growth business rewarding staff with well-above-inflation pay rises for 2014.

This follows a successful 2013 for Redwood’s UK business, in which the company grew its revenues by more than a third.

Filming for the report took place at the group’s international HQ, Radius Court in Bracknell, and included footage of Redwood staff at work in the company’s production and engineering facilities, and keeping fit in the in-house gym.

The BBC team conducted interviews with Development Engineering Manager Kevin Robertson and Director Martin Taylor. The pair noted the rise of business and consumer confidence in the Thames Valley – the home of the UK’s technology sector and a bellwether for the country’s economic fortunes.

Taylor comments: “In the Thames Valley we are seeing more business investment together with salary increases at well above the rate of inflation. This is a good indication that real economic recovery is taking place. Content Guru and its sister companies have been growing year-on-year, especially in the cloud communications arena. Rewarding our staff with significant pay rises not only ensures that we continue to attract and retain the best talent, but it is also helps enable the discretionary consumer spending that powers the wider domestic economy. Any sustainable recovery is built on business confidence and consumer confidence, and the two feed off one another.”

Sections of the report are being broadcast throughout the day on BBC South Today on BBC1 and will be available online shortly afterwards.
