At a well-attended awards ceremony at King’s College London last night, Content Guru Director and Co-Founder Martin Taylor presented the inaugural Content Guru Prize for the Best Performance in Strategic Management. The award was received by new King’s graduate David Kohl for his outstanding achievement of finishing first in the final-year Strategic Management Module of the BSc(Hons) Business Management degree course, beating off competition from more than 200 other elite students.
The event, hosted in the Bytes Restaurant of the Franklin-Wilkins building on the King’s campus in Central London, saw a total of six awards distributed to high-achieving students from the Department of Management. The Content Guru prize consists of a trophy, engraved with the College crest and each year’s winner, and a solid silver medal inscribed with the recipient’s name. A grant of £1,000, funded from Content Guru’s contributions to the college, assists the winner with their continuing studies or their move into business life.
Martin Taylor commented: “We were delighted to have the opportunity earlier in the year to sponsor this new award for King’s College, and it gave me even more pleasure to present this award at the ceremony. David is a worthy recipient who has demonstrated precisely the sort of values that the Department holds in the highest regard. He is currently embarking on an academic career, but I would not be surprised to find David out in the business world before too long, and he will be a formidable operator. We are proud to foster a corporate environment at Content Guru that encourages individuals to ‘think like owners’, and integral to that is for each individual to develop their own strategic awareness. This makes our sponsorship of this academic prize pleasingly appropriate.”
