Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Content Guru is looking for an enthusiastic, methodical and highly motivated Project Manager to join the Project Management team in the company’s headquarters in Bracknell, UK.
Project Management is a critical function within Content Guru’s domestic and international business, responsible for planning, managing and delivering both customer and internal projects within tight deadlines. The company is growing rapidly and has major international expansion ambitions, and the Project Manager role is crucial in ensuring that a wide variety and large volume of projects are regularly delivered to support sales commitments and help achieve and surpass the company’s expectations.
The role will impact multiple business units across Content Guru’s four international segments. The successful applicant will directly interact with Content Guru sales teams and clients on a regular basis in order to determine project requirements and delivery timescales, and then to co-ordinate multiple engineering departments to ensure that new developments and applications can be realistically accomplished and implemented. All project work is carried out within suitable cost bases and timescales and to the demanding quality standards that underpin the organisation.
The Project Manager should also be able to think creatively and help some of the world’s biggest organisations solve highly complex technological and operational issues, and will also be required to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and find solutions where appropriate through using a systematic multi-step approach.
Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for client liaisons and product demonstrations, and should also exhibit solid leadership abilities, in order to provide direction and support to each person involved within the project team. He or she should possess excellent business and commercial acumen in order to steer appropriate product development.
The candidate will also be required to regularly and proactively engage with all relevant stakeholders, while tracking project deliverables using applicable Content Guru tools and technology.
The successful candidate must be able to effectively and reliably co-ordinate innovations to enhance performance and develop improvements so that each project can proceed smoothly in a timely, regular fashion. Ensuring open communication across the project team is vital, while maximising opportunity and minimising exposure to risk when handling conflict. The role will be instrumental in supporting the continual growth of the company in domestic and international markets as well as ensuring that the company’s international reputation for high service quality is maintained.

Main Responsibilities

  • Take primary ongoing responsibility for management of projects and assisting in the strategic planning and implementation of projects, ensuring that company continues to successfully deliver a huge range of services worldwide
  • Act as a focal point for clients during the implementation and delivery phases of projects, creating a strong ongoing working relationship and upholding the company values of high quality across all project delivery and customer service engagements
  • Use innovative methods to ensure that project progress remains highly visible at all times, and continually refine and improvement management strategies in order to assist the company’s ability to process an increasing number of simultaneous projects as it continues to grow
  • Participate in the planning, design and implementation of projects of varying complexity for some of the world’s largest organisations, and create roadmaps for future deployments
  • Adhere to Scrum Agile and Waterfall Project Management methodologies to ensure projects can be optimally delivered within the latest industry standards
  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry developments to provide a framework for driving innovation within the business
  • Use initiative to act as a nexus for interactions between suppliers, clients, sales and engineering teams in order to effectively co-ordinate multi-party interactions
  • Design and develop software and hardware specifications using a combination of innovative methods and standards
  • Act as both the Product Owner and as the Scrum Master for Agile products
  • Delivery expert technical guidance on the company’s products, and demonstrate these products to customers in the company’s world-class Customer Experience Centre (CXC)
  • Drive regular progress meetings with all involved parties to ensure that objectives are continually met and exceeded where possible.

Experience and Skills

  • Have strong educational background with a 2.1 and above, and a BBB and above at A-levels
  • Must have the relevant documentation to work in the UK on a permanent basis
  • Must be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland basic security check
  • Be hard working and ambitious
  • Excellent level of IT/Computer literacy
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen skills
  • Be well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to produce written work including update notifications to deadlines

Desirables

  • General experience working in a customer-facing role
  • An excellent telephone manner and the ability to converse with, and retrieve relevant information from, users at all levels of IT literacy and rank
  • A keen interest in technology in general, and in software, computing and telecoms in particular
  • Previous experience working in the IT and Telecoms sector
  • Experienced in working with the software development lifecycle, cloud platforms and/or the development of hardware and software
  • Be comfortable representing the company in front of customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Experience in project management or project delivery in the IT and Telecoms sector
  • Ability to interact with and understand complex technological concepts and condense this information into a style appropriate for consumption by a range of audiences
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-growing company full of enthusiastic, highly intelligent colleagues
