Content Guru is looking for a creative, highly-motivated and organised Marketing Consultant to join the company’s Corporate Marketing team in its UK headquarters.

The company is growing rapidly in multiple international markets, and the Marketing team has a vital responsibility for driving and supporting this expansion, delivering creative and distinctive campaigns, brand awareness and lead generation opportunities.
From its base in the UK, the Marketing team is responsible for ensuring that the company’s messaging and brand image is strongly represented and consistent across all international markets.

The successful candidate will have a responsibility for helping the company meet and exceed its ambitious targets in a highly-competitive industry. This will involve:

  • Running campaigns: Delivering a range of compelling marketing campaigns to target a wide range desired demographics across multiple verticals worldwide
  • Writing: The successful applicant will demonstrate a natural flair for creative and persuasive writing and a strong understanding of the relationship between design and copy, in order to effectively develop the production of new marketing materials and literature.
  • Exhibitions: The candidate will also take a hands-on approach to events such as exhibitions, comprising both organisation and participation. The candidate will also be required to liaise directly with a variety of departments within the organisation and also interact with clients and key international partners to co-ordinate joint marketing activities and to generate effective content such as customer case studies. He or she should therefore possess solid interpersonal skills and be dynamic and proactive in all external and internal activities.

The Marketing Consultant must be able to develop a solid technical knowledge of the company’s products and platform, and demonstrate the ability to condense complex technological concepts into comprehensible English. They must also be able to articulate these benefits and capabilities across a wide variety of media.

The Marketing Consultant will report to the Marketing Team Leader, who has overall responsibility for co-ordinating Marketing activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, deliver and co-ordinate clear internal and external communications to communicate and enhance the company’s brand image and encourage lead generation opportunities
  • Implement innovative and creative marketing campaigns to support activities across international marketplaces, establishing the brand in new markets while solidifying its presence in existing areas
  • Become responsible for a rapidly-growing brand image and work as part of a young, dynamic team in order to compete with major, established organisations within the industry on a global scale
  • Take ownership of a range of key collateral from internal bulletins, marketing brochures, customer case studies, video material and website updates and co-ordinate production, management and distribution of new marketing material and literature
  • Become both a dynamic and reliable member of a fast-paced team and help to continue the rapid expansion of the business through proactive engagement with a range of key stakeholders, from partners through to clients and internal colleagues
  • Ensure the continued development of Content Guru’s digital marketing presence, including management and updating of customer-facing websites through to deploying Twitter and LinkedIn strategies
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of industry developments as well as company innovations in order to inform thought leadership materials and strengthen general Marketing collateral
  • Organise events, networking opportunities, campaigns and award entries, ensuring that the company is appropriately represented within the industry
  • Support the Sales department with a range of targeted collateral, campaigns and presentations, in order to maximise Sales opportunities and aid the company’s growth
  • Be involved with weekly strategic meetings in order to help define and action key Marketing activities
  • Be able to confidently build positive relationships both internally and externally, helping to support partner activities and working with clients on a range of endeavours

Experience and Skills

  • Have strong educational background with a 2.1 and above, and a BBB and above at A-levels
  • Must have the relevant documentation to work in the UK on a permanent basis
  • Must be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland basic security check
  • Be hard working and ambitious
  • Excellent level of IT/Computer literacy
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Be well-organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to produce high-quality written work to stringent deadlines
  • Be prepared to travel to meetings in the UK, and occasionally abroad

Desirables

  • General experience working in a customer-facing role
  • Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks

  • A keen interest in technology in general, and in software, computing and telecoms in particular
  • Previous experience working in the IT and Telecoms sector
  • Be comfortable representing the company in front of customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Ability to interact with and understand complex technological concepts and condense this information into a style appropriate for consumption by a range of audiences
